What is your opinion on the band Nickelback? Why do they receive criticism from some people?

Many times, people who want to be perceived as “tough” try to badmouth things that aren’t perceived as “tough” to try to seem “tough.”
Nickelback is a pretty soft band as far as rock goes. I’m sure they’re doing very well, but the more mainstream and popular you are with the “pop” crowd, the more purists will hate you.
It pretty much goes for anything.
Do you remember one day, you put a deep smile on someone's face and made them very happy?
